About US
Who We Are?
The Association for Development and Empowerment of Indigenous Persons with Disabilities (AIPDDE) is a non-profit organization registered on May 16, 2024, at the District Administration Office, Damak. Affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, AIPDDE focuses on promoting the rights and empowerment of indigenous persons with disabilities, particularly women, girls, and marginalized communities, including Dalits and LGBTQ+ individuals.
Guided by national and international frameworks like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), CRPD, CEDAW, and UNDRIP, AIPDDE advocates for economic, social, political, and cultural rights through strategic partnerships and community-focused programs.

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
Date: November 25 – December 10, 2024 AIPDDE representatives joined Damak Municipality’s opening ceremony for the 16 Days of Activism campaign. Discussions centered on combating discrimination and violence against indigenous women with disabilities, along with strategies for promoting self-employment and empowerment. Outcomes:
Annual General Meeting and International Disability Day
Date: December 3, 2024 Marking the 33rd International Disability Day, AIPDDE hosted its first Annual General Meeting with the theme “Meaningful Participation with Intersectional Identity.” Various programs were conducted to highlight the importance of empowerment and inclusivity for indigenous persons with disabilities. Capacity Building on SRHR and Climate Justice
Date: October 26–27, 2024 Two-Day Workshop on SRHR and Climate Justice Organized by NIDWAN with financial support from ARROW, this workshop focused on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and the impact of climate change on indigenous communities. National Consultation and Review on Beijing +30
Date: September 23–24, 2024 AIPDDE representatives participated in the national consultation program on Beijing +30, focusing on the status and challenges of women and adolescent girls with disabilities in Nepal. The event provided a platform to address key issues related to gender equality and disability rights. Outcomes:
Leadership and Campaign Training
Date: August 16–19, 2024 Four-Day Leadership and Campaign Training hosted by NIDWAN, this program aimed to develop leadership and advocacy skills among persons with disabilities and their representatives. Participants gained valuable insights into effective campaign strategies and community mobilization. Outcomes:
International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples
Date: August 10, 2024 On the occasion of the 30th International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, AIPDDE participated in programs organized by NEFIN’s Damak Coordination Council.
